Therapy is needed

Radiation was a rookie out on the tracks now. This son to Radiance had a lot to learn while he came in fifth in his first race of the year he still had time to develop into an incredible racehorse. Carlos was walking the colt out of the stalls stretching the colt's legs before he would have the horse go onto the tracks. Radiation would be a colt to look out for in the future. He would do best on dirt surfaces and he matched his sister Reflected in Water coming to also race this season.

The colt was on fire this morning he is very gentle and has no means for aggression. Carlos then headed for the practice tracks. Carlos used a stool to get onto the Thoroughbreds back. Even though the colt just stood 16 hands even he had strong shoulder muscles that helped him push along the dirt for speed and stamina. This colt ran distances and would enter into the breeders cup in time at the end of the year to follow his Sire's hoof prints. Carlos would help bring him there.

Carlos guided the dark bay colt onto the dirt and Radiation nickered to do what he was told. With this colt's playful attitudes it would come pretty hasty on the track. This first actual workout for the colt would be an amazing run. The colt went into a canter before coming into a trot to get the feel of the freedom out there on the track. The colt raised his ears forward to look at the track ahead of him. He felt the weight on his back and simply balanced it out to move in his stature. Carlos still had the reins tight in his hand letting his equine friend get used to this track.

"That's it boy. Ready to go huh how about we see what you got." Carlos said as he then lowered himself as he gently waved the whip to the hind quarters and the colt then started out into a gentle gallop trusting his human companion and when he got the feel of the soft dirt beneath his hooves the 2 year old then took off into a faster pace enjoying what he was doing. Radiation picked up a faster face skipping a beat every so often the colt stayed on the outside of the rail as he seemed not to like it one bit.

He then switched into a faster pace coming along the end of the back stretch into the third turn raising his head to look ahead of the track that was left. Carlos held onto the colt with his mane in his fingers as he gently moved the reins to guide the colt around the track more easily. All Carlos had to do was show the colt the whip so he knew it was there and the Radiance son would do the rest. As he came to the final turn Carlos clicked his tongue and the horses ears were back again as he picked up one final speed and came among the home stretch with all he had.

The colt then passed the wire without hesitation as Carlos brought him to a slow stop. The colt lowered his head after the run and moved the bit around a bit so it didn't irritate his tongue much longer. Carlos was proud of the run but, he didn't want to over take the distance so while the horse could have did better this was a first workout which was a pretty good run to Carlos eyes. The next races would come and Radiation would be ready.
