GS SUPER CHARGED Ridden by Chris Stevens
Breeder's Cup Juvenile Turf* Workout

Well, the stable move was a bit hasty and Chris was happy that the stables now had their own tracks to practice and train on. This stable was filled with much more grass and it's very own pond for the horses in the paddock to run as a herd to enjoy themselves. Chris grabbed the lead rope and headed into the new stables that were very large indeed. He could already Ben pounding about and Chris knew Gambler, Ben's stablemate was probably in the corner losing his temper in his own way. He walked up to the stall and looked at the bay colt with a happy smile. "Hey there Ben, ready to run?" He said opening the door and clicking the lead rope onto his halter and pulled him out of the stall.
He took him outside where it was nice out with small winds and partly cloudy. He tied the lead rope to a pole so he could brush the colt down and settle him down. GS Super Charged spooked easily but, only because he was very moody horse Chris was glad that his four legged friend was not harmed in the flash flood that overtook the last stables. He gently moved his hand on the colts side feeling his soft fur. Chris then placed the blanket over his back and then soon after the saddle on him. Chris fed him a small strip of a carrot and then grabbed the reins and clicked them onto the proper places of the halter and walked Ben over to the outside of the turf track of Bowen Acres.
Getting onto the back of the colt Chris fixed the reins in his hands before easing Ben forward to head onto the track and walk out his nerves and muscles before he had the colt take off. The Breeders cup was coming up and this workout was for the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf. GS Super Charged had a lot of potential and where he was at a slow start he was only just a two year old. At a grade 5 level the son of Admiral's Revenge was doing quite well for himself. At the moment Ben was up against GS Royal Crown a son to Seabiscuit no other he was also up against Intrepid Racing's Abastor who had a mild temper just as Ben did.
The other competitors were just as fierce as Ben was but, Chris would hope that the son to Admiral's Revenge would dominate this track given he was Triple Crowned blood. But, it wasn't nice to get too cocky for this kind of race. Ode to Glory was in this competition but, so were two sibling's The Unicorn and Livin' The Jazz. It would be difficult enough to try to catch those two but, then there was also Blue Me Away. GS Super Charged had to be smart and not lose his stride because this was the Breeders Cup it would move up his records most certainly as he came in fourth at the Y12 Risorgimeto Derby and had placed at the Y12 Novisio Derby both races not expected.
"Alright Ben nice and slow." Chris said as he had Ben walk onto the turf track with an easy pace. Ben could only snort and nicker to this movement as he was impatient to get wanting to move on. As this continued, Chris then settled Super Charged into a nice trot after the first turn after the start stretch and Ben took it to note that this workout was needed. After he settled himself into a comfortable trot Ben reached the start of the back stretch and he took off like a speeding train picking up his speed as he was in well shape after long months of rest. The colt was on fire today and Chris could see this colt bringing more in the near future.
Chris was just there for the ride as the colt knew what he was doing his blood belonged on the track he was born into this and it was the only thing this colt was good at. Picking up more speed along the final turn to the home stretch Ben was gliding down the track like it was nothing. It was the end where he had to then come to a steady trot again to relax his worked out muscles. This colt had speed and stamina and for this distance runner the two, jockey and horse were ready to take on the Breeders Cup.
