GAMBLE ON PEACE Ridden by Chris Stevens
Breeders Cup Workout // December Workout
[/size]Gamble on Peace was set to run in three races this month. Two on GHF and one on The Wire. This colt was very busy and where he was great for his sprinting technique's he has entered into the Green Horse Dirt Sprint, GHF's Breeder's Cup Sprint*, and The Wire's I believe I can fly Derby. This colt needed a good workout and Chris would have him be the first colt to step onto the new track for dirt sprinters at Bowen Acres. The colt was a grade 4 dirt horse he simply ran over other sprinters the last couple months and he already had a busy schedule next season.
Chris was already on top of the horse's back as calm as Gambler was he had a nasty habit of biting which is why Chris preferred to ride him out onto the track instead of walking him by the reins. The chestnut was spectacular he moved greatly out on the track and as a closer it gives him all the time on the track to save his strength until the end of the race. The start out was nice for the colt and while the press was standing at the side-lines with their camera's as they flashed them at the colt trotting his way past them. Chris knew Gamble's tricks and movements and while they were much different then GS Super Charged he had him figured out just like Gambler.
The colt began his mark at the middle of the first turn and as he came onto the back stretch he sprinted his legs outward more to get a good grip of the dirt below his hooves. Chris had his head down and the reins close to his chin holding them tight so he had a better grip of the sprinter. The colt's breathing was nice and steady and where he broke late the colt still had his game. The Chestnut drove for more it seemed he claimed to be flying down the back stretch of the track and where if he had an opponent the 3 year old still had a lot of potential and had been doing quite well since coming to Bowen Acres only in the beginning of Y12.
He reached the last turn before the colt went for another gear to catch his time. Gambler's ears were perked back as he was then going a full speed gallop run as he was off into the sunlight of the home stretch feeling his muscles get warm. When he came close to the finish Chris had Gambler come to a slow trot to then have his muscles cool off. Gamble on Peace seemed to fit right in onto the tracks it was what he was born to do. If only he was a distance runner Chris would gladly have him run alongside GS Super Charged the two would be unstoppable but, things were a bit different.
Chris then walked Gambler to the side where the camera's flashed towards this workout. The colt had done extremely well for the stables being a start Grade 5 when coming to the stables as he is now a Grade 4 itching to move up in the league's. Y13 had to come and Gamble would show things would be done but, would be up against high competitors Bowen Acres needed to get him pumped up for the next races.
